Ski Mt Ararat in 6 days
Basic Mt Ararat ski package with acclimatisation
This is our most basic Mt Ararat ski package. Ideal for independent travellers off the beaten path. This Mt Ararat ski tour is ideal for you if you want to ensure the success of your Mt Ararat summit ascent. With a gradual increase of altitude, your body has more time to adapt to different air quality. We will meet you on the day before the climb in Doğubayazıt so that we can show you all the equipment and discuss all the tiny details of the Mt Ararat ski tour.
Day 1: transfer from Agri or İgdır, airport to Doğubayazıt. On the way we will get the first glimpse of Mt Ararat. Dinner in Doğubayazıt. At dinner we will discuss al the possible questions regarding your Mt. Ararat ski. Accommodation is provided in double rooms.
Day 2: transfer from Doğubayazıt to 2000m by minibus at 7am. From here, we start our climb of Mt Ararat by skiing up to 2800m (1st camp, 4 hours). We pitch tents and hot food is served for dinner.
Day 3: start the second day of our Mt Ararat tour early in the morning (at 8am), and reach 3800m (2nd camp) by cross-country skiing (4 hours). We pitch tents and hot food is served for dinner.
Day 4: start in the morning at 8am, ascent to 4600m for acclimatisation, return to the 2nd camp at 3800m. Today's all-day cross-country skiing helps to ensure the success of reaching Mt Ararat summit. Hot food is served for dinner.
Day 5: start at 5am, ascent by ski up to 5000m, then climb (using crampons) up to the summit of Mt Ararat (5137m). We reach the summit by about 10am. We return to the 2nd camp, where hot soup and tea is served. After some rest, we pack the tents and return to 1800m by ski, saying good bye to Mt Ararat. There, the minibus is already waiting for us and takes us back to Doğubayazıt hotel.
Day 6: Transfer Igdir or Agri Airport
6.Days mount Ararat skiTour price is 499 Euro permit fee 50 Euro total 549 Euro.
Included in the price: all transportation, all meals during the trek , tea, water (other soft drinks alcohol not included), hotel accommodation for 2 nights in double rooms (Dogubayazıt)*, climbing permit, guide for the Mt Ararat Ski, huorse to carry bags, cook, tent, mat, crampons, climbing certificate,visit Ishak pasa palace evening
Necessary equipment: backpack for the equipments and clothes, day-bag for the hikes, hiking shoe,and high altitude ski boots head lights, walking sticks, gloves, beret and hat, suntan cream,warm and waterproof clothes, pocket, sun glasses. If you bring your own sleeping bag, choose a good 4-season one (-15°C). Weather may be chilly at 3700m, and you can expect temperatures between --15°C and -22°C on the summit.
